The Ministry of Health is closely monitoring monkeypox cases. They are urging all health care providers to be alert for patients with symptoms that are consistent with the monkeypox virus, especially if they have had travel or contact with a known case.

Ontario’s Chief Medical Officer of Health (CMOH), Dr. Kieran Moore, has issued an Order under section 77.6 of the Health Protection and Promotion Act, requiring all health-care providers and regulated health professionals to report any individual who meets the case definition of the monkeypox virus to Public Health Ontario.
